Jim Burn's Agenda for Change for the Democratic Party
  • Establish an Executive Committee that reflects the many faces and communities of our Democratic Party.

  • Call an ACDC County Convention to revise bylaws and establish rules that fit the changing demands of our political environment.

  • Hire a fulltime Executive Director and support staff to handle day-to-day tasks and execute the policies and projects established by the Executive Committee.

  • Clearly define the role and responsibilities of ACDC Members and provide them with the training and resources needed to carry out their duties.

  • Build better relationships with the groups and organizations that embrace Democratic Party ideals.

  • Establish better communication within the committee itself and better communication from the committee to Democratic voters in the general public.

  • Make available to ACDC members the tools, technology and training needed to compete in today's high-tech environment.

  • Provide any ACDC Member who wants one, an ACDC email address and access to a voter database website with a voter registration list and voter history for their district.

  • Plan and implement a comprehensive and aggressive fund raising strategy that maximizes efforts locally and leverages our "eye-of-the-storm" status in national elections to attract contributors outside of the region and state.

  • Create an incentive and awards program that motivates ACDC Members and volunteers to perform election and organizing tasks and recognizes them for their successes and achievements.

  • Provide more opportunities for ACDC Members to network with other Members and elected Democratic leaders and public officials.

  • Establish incentives and disincentives to inspire and enforce party discipline.
