Some accomplishments in Millvale since 1994:
- Refinanced debt of prior administration at lower interest rates
- Instituted road repaving program and all roads in borough are now near completion
- Worked to bring two senior citizen high rises to the borough
- Helped to form the Millvale Borough development Corporation (MBDC) in order to revitalize Borough's business district
- Helped to form the Millvale Athletic Association to provide athletic opportunities for Borough's children
- Worked with local lending institutions to propose a first time home buyer program for local residents
- Received grant monies and other donations to revitalize Millvale Ballfield
- Hired full time code enforcement to assist with bringing compromised structures in the borough up to code
- Received grants from Allegheny County to demolish vacant structures in the Borough
- Received $625,000 from Governor Rendell to revitalize business district through the Hometown Streets Program
- Hired additional police through COPS GRANT program
- Received monies to add a canine officer, Woden, to the Millvale Police Department
- Received $28,000 from District Attorney Stephen Zappala to help Millvale Police recover and replace lost, damaged and destroyed items from Hurricane Ivan
- Purchased National City parking lot to make available more municipal parking
- Worked with private citizens to reorganize Millvale crime watch
- Received 1.4 million in grant monies for river front revitalization
- Initiated delinquent wage and property tax collection programs
- Negotiated new trash removal contracts in conjunction with other municipalities to keep prices low.
- Working with Senator Ferlo to form an enterprise zone to create additional funding opportunities
- Working with North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO) to assist borough residents and businesses
- Working with the Millvale Assistance team (MAT) in their efforts with businesses and residents in post Ivan flood recovery
- Working with County Executive Dan Onorato to obtain grants and other relief to assist the entire borough in its redevelopment and in its long term recovery from the flooding associated with Hurricane Ivan
- Received a loan with 0% interest in the amount of $532,000.00 to renovate the Lippert Saw property for commercial use on the first floor with four residential lofts on the upper floors. These four lofts will be valued at $90,000 to $100,000 each. This property is located in the center of the business district and at one of the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Ivan.
- Received Allegheny County assistance with the Borough's bridge reconstruction project at Klopfer Street and North Avenue. The County helped with this project by funding approximately $170,000.00 of its cost. The State also helped fund this project with approximately $660,000 in funding through the Department of transportation.
- Enacted ordinances, which hold landlords and their tenants accountable for disruptive behavior.
